What is a Skilled Nursing Facility?

A skilled nursing facility or nursing home provides 24-hour medical care in addition to custodial care. Residents may live at our skilled nursing facility temporarily or for long-term care. At Greenridge Senior Care our sixty-bed skilled nursing facility is licensed and regulated by the State Department of Public Health and individually certified by the State for Medicare and Medicaid.

• Need 24-hour supervision
  • Need monitoring by a registered nurse

Our various levels of care in our skilled nursing facility include:

1. Basic Care: this is help required to maintain a resident's activities of daily living. It includes personal care, supervision and safety.
2. Skilled Care: requires the services of a registered nurse on a regular basis.
3. Sub-Acute Care: this involves comprehensive in-patient care and is designed for someone who has had an acute illness, injury or progression or onset of disease.
