The following are some of the guidelines for assigning a level of care to our Assisted Living residents:
Level 1: Independent Functioning:Residents at this level of care are physically, mentally and emotionally capable of maintaining themselves in the residential care facility with no assistance other than basic personal care services. These include:
- Assistance with tasks of daily living- bathing, grooming, dressing, getting around, eating.
- Continuous observation, care & supervision
- Monitoring of resident’s health, social, dietary needs
- Assistance with taking self-administered medications
- Arranging transportation to medical and dental appointments
- Staff response to emergencies and sudden illness, contacting the resident’s personal physician and assisting in transferring the resident to the appropriate level of care
- The facility maintains the right to contact the resident’s physician, or in his/her absence, an alternative physician or paramedics at the expense of the resident.
Level 2: Supplemental Assistance:Seniors at this level may suffer from intermittent confusion or other impairment resulting in personal or interpersonal difficulties. Residents at this level require extra staff support on a regular basis in order to manage their daily regimen. This may include:

- Those suffering from minor or occasional incontinence will receive extra linen, personal support and housekeeping
- Increased social service case management and increased coordination with family members around the needs of the resident as necessary.
Level 3: Residents at Risk
This level is for residents who are able to avert the need for skilled nursing only with a more intensive level of support. Residents at this level will generally receive all the extra activities of daily living support necessary for those at Level 2. Residents at this level receive:
- Substantial and regular assistance with orientation to enable the resident to adapt to the environment
